  1. Before teaching children how to find percentages of amounts (for example, finding 35% of 240), consider what knowledge children will need to access this learning. This could include:  knowing that a percentage is a proportion of the whole amount; how to divide by 10; how to add two-digit numbers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Design questions to determine whether the children have this prerequisite knowledge. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Decide what content will need to be retaught before teaching the new content. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
